The Knitted Chair is part of a debut body of work that incorporates knit textures with minimalist jarrah timber forms. This piece encapsulates the experiment between these two mediums. Hand shaped timber forms are wrapped in knit, using an organic laddering technique and traditional tailoring methods, to prompt associations of land surfaces, DNA, and mycelium. This It expresses itself through a relatable, somewhat characterised body for the home.
