The Flood Collection is a body of work sitting at the threshold between destruction & persistence, loss & survival, speculation & archaeology. This piece is a reference to ancient narratives surrounding cataclysmic floods. It is constructed from a solid piece of red gum timber which is then burnt and oiled. The fluted brass shade is aged, waxed and fixed upon its timber counterpart. The piece is then finished with brass cable runs that flow down the back of the timber form.

care instructions ~ Timber can be wiped with a damp cloth and natural spray to remove dust from daily use. Every 5-7 years or when appearing dry, it is recommended to refresh timber with one coat of hardwax oil. Refrain from harsh chemical sprays and take care to prevent scratches by avoiding brushing timber and brass with any abrasive materials. Although the finish is water resistant, avoid sustained contact with liquids.
